How and when did this club start?

Back in October 1949, a Mrs. Culley, believed to be from the W.V.S. visited the Lopham’s in order to assist in the organization of an ‘Over Sixties’ Club. 

The following week the club was duly formed. The first regular meeting of the club was held on 8^th November 1949.

Each October we have a ‘Birthday Meal’ to recognize the anniversary of these events of 73 years.

Has the club always had the current name?

The original name was the ‘Darby & Joan club’, but later became known as ‘Lopham Over 60’s club’

Then in 1997 the club’s name changed to The Lopham’s Happy Circle.
